They’ve been on hiatus for the last six years, but it looks like we’re finally getting new music from Vegas power-pop favorites the Cab in 2020.

A tweet from guitarist / pianist Alex Marshall was posted yesterday and included a 41-second-long snippet of what appears to be a new track titled “Wasted.”

It was accompanied by a caption, which featured the song’s lyrics "Sippin’ on ya naked I was fuckin’ wasted." It follows tweets from Marshall last year that confirmed new the Cab material was in the works.

The teaser is the first taste of new music we’ve had from the Cab since the band went on a break in 2014 following the release of their EP Lock Me Up.

Frontman Alexander DeLeon has been heavily occupied with his solo alt-pop project Bohnes during that time. He’s also written for other artists, including Panic! At The Disco. Judging from what we’ve heard, “Wasted” looks set to continue the R&B-influenced, pop-heavy sound the Cab moved toward with their later material.

There’s been no official word on a reunion for the Cab yet, with the band’s social media inactive since 2018, but given Marshall’s tweets, a new album announcement certainly looks like it’s a matter of when and not if.
