Madina Lake have released "Playing With Fire," their first new song in nine years.

In 2018, the band announced that an EP of the same name was in the works, and while that has yet to materialize, the release of the title-track suggests a full record isn't far behind.

Currently, due to the ongoing coronavirus situation, the song is only available to stream via Soundcloud, but Madina Lake have assured fans that "Playing With Fire" will be uploaded to major streaming platforms soon.

Speaking about the release of "Playing With Fire," Madina Lake commented that “the track caught the COV and is being quarantined by distro, we’re told it’s stuck in a bottleneck for approval. We will have it avail when distro clears, meanwhile, we hope you enjoy it and we welcome your feedback. Remember: play at exceedingly above average decibels and let go of yourself when listening.”

Madina Lake's bassist Matthew Leone was the subject of a brutal attack in 2010 after intervening in a domestic assault that led to him needing a third of his skull removed. In 2012, the man accused of attacking Leone was cleared of attempted murder.

The band's last album, World War III, came out in 2011. Madina Lake played a run of reunion shows in 2017 following an initial split four years prior.
